Game Review

Carlton were in complete control all day and although they slowed up in the last quarter, ran out easy winners. They climbed to second place on the ladder and secured a double chance in the finals.

Nicholls was Best on Ground again with a great ruck display, whilst Kekovich kicked 5 goals. Robertson, Goold, Gill, Gallagher, Munari and Bennett were also good. For North, Dugdale, Dwyer, Kekovich, Allison and Steward were in the best players.

Milestones

First game as Captain: John Nicholls John took over from Captain-Coach Ron Barassi who last week retired from playing. John Nicholls was Carlton captain in 1963
Interesting Fact: This was the first of two consecutive away wins against this opponent at exactly the same margin, a feat we've managed 6 times in our entire VFL to AFL history.
