"A pleasant little gathering took place on Monday evening in the Sir Henry Barlky Hotel, Heidelberg; when several friends met together for the purpose of making a presentation to the popular footballer, Joe Dawson, late captain of the local club, but now a member of the Carlton. A very handsome gold locket, suitably inscribed, was presented to him, and many good wishes were expressed for his success with his new comrades in the football field.
